Softball Game Preview: Seymour Panthers vs. Northside Indians

The Seymour Panthers will challenge the Northside Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Seymour has struggled recently with six defeats in a row, while Northside will arrive with three straight victories.

Monday just wasn't the day for Seymour's offense. They came up short against Graham on Monday, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, Northside got the win against Olney on Friday by a conclusive 16-9. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on L. Logsdon, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was K. Gomez, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Logsdon wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Northside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Northside's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13 runs. As for Seymour, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Seymour has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .553. However, it's not like Northside struggles in that department as they've averaged .598. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went Seymour's way against Northside in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Seymour made off with a 19-3 victory. Does Seymour have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
