            Shelby Valley has won three straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Lawrence County has won three straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much  on Tuesday. The Shelby Valley Wildcats will be defending their home field for the first time this season  when they go up against the Lawrence County Bulldogs  at 6:00  p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many  runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
It was a proper cat-fight when  Shelby Valley faced off against Floyd Central on Monday. Shelby Valley fell just short of Floyd Central by a score of  4-2.
 Riley Newsome put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits. Newsome was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 Newsome wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Kobe Fields, who  went 1-for-4 with one  RBI.
 Lawrence County had taken Greenup County down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end  on Thursday. Lawrence County fell  4-1 to Greenup County. The  defeat   continues a  trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Musketeers: they've now lost three in a row.
