Basketball Recap: Nate Sheerer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Queensbury over Amsterdam

Queensbury lost against Amsterdam back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Queensbury Spartans received a blow as they fell 66-48 to the Amsterdam Rams. The Spartans were down 54-27 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nate Sheerer, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points. LaTrell Allen was another key player, putting up eight points.

Even though they lost, Queensbury smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Queensbury has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Amsterdam, their record is now 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Queensbury will square off against Glens Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Amsterdam, they will face off against Scotia-Glenville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
