Football Recap: Brady Crews Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Riverton

The matchup between New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly and Riverton on Friday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Vipers put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 46-23 win. The Vipers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brady Crews out in front who threw for 157 yards and four TDs on only 14 passes. Those four passing touchdowns gave Crews a new career-high. Michael Pecoraro helped Crews out on the ground, rushing for 77 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The win got New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly back to even at 2-2. As for Riverton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, New Berlin/Franklin/Waverly will square off against Pittsfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vipers will be up against the Saukees' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Riverton, they will challenge Maroa-Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
