Volleyball Game Preview: Dublin Coffman Shamrocks vs. Marysville Monarchs

Dublin Coffman is 8-2 against Marysville since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. Dublin Coffman will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Dublin Coffman won the last time they faced Hilliard Bradley and Milena Brennan did her part to make sure it happened again. The Shamrocks walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Jaguars last Thursday for which the team can thank Brennan, who had 16 digs and six assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Dublin Coffman got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 14-25, 31-29, 25-15.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Marysville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against Hayes by a score of 3-1 last Saturday.

Marysville was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-22, 19-25, 25-22.

The win got Marysville back to even at 11-11. As for Dublin Coffman, their record now sits at 10-11.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's match: Dublin Coffman has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Marysville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 aces.
