Baseball Recap: Laurel Takes a Loss

Laurel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 8-4 to the Lake Forest Spartans. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Maverick Timmons made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Karter Hastings also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Laurel's loss dropped their record down to 5-11-1. As for Lake Forest, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Laurel is set to square off against their familiar foe Indian River at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lake Forest will take on rival Delmar at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 2.8, the Wildcats 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
