Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lima Central Catholic). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Ridgemont Golden Gophers a 17-0 shutout on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Lima Central Catholic and bumps their season record up to 9-12. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Ridgemont, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-12.

Coming up, Lima Central Catholic will welcome Liberty-Benton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Thunderbirds' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ridgemont, they will take on Riverdale at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
