Basketball Recap: Maryvale Prep Takes a Loss

Maryvale Prep lost against Anthem Prep back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Maryvale Prep Matador were dealt a 73-35 loss at the hands of the Anthem Prep Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Matador can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Eagles are ranked 139th).

Maryvale Prep is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11. As for Anthem Prep, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maryvale Prep will take on North Phoenix Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Anthem Prep, they will face off against Salome at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Anthem Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
