Softball Preview: Greenbrier West Cavaliers vs. Mount View Golden Knights

Greenbrier West is a perfect 5-0 against Mount View since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Greenbrier West's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Tuesday. Everything went their way against Webster County as they made off with a 21-0 victory. Considering the Cavaliers have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brilee Redden made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last nine games. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Greenbrier West got a massive performance out of Madalyn Fields, who fired off four runs, three doubles, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Those three doubles gave Fields a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Preslee Treadway, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple.
