Greenbrier West is a perfect 5-0 against Mount View since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Greenbrier West's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Tuesday. Everything went their way against Webster County as they made off with a 21-0 victory. Considering the Cavaliers have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brilee Redden made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last nine games. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Greenbrier West got a massive performance out of Madalyn Fields, who fired off four runs, three doubles, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Those three doubles gave Fields a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Preslee Treadway, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple.
Greenbrier West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .560. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Mount View posted their closest win since April 21st last Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Montcalm 8-6.
Like Greenbrier West, Mount View also got a great game from a two-way player: Phoebe Dudgeon. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. Dudgeon has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Malayah Barnes was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and four runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 16 games she's played. Krislyn York was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Mount View pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Greenbrier West, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8.
Both Greenbrier West and Mount View just can't seem to miss. The Cavaliers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like Mount View struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Greenbrier West's way against Mount View when the teams last played back in March of 2019, as Greenbrier West made off with an 11-3 win. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Golden Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
