Volleyball Recap: Antioch Comes Up Short

Antioch lost against Wauconda last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sequoits fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The Sequoits have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Antioch started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-20, 25-20.

Among those leading the charge was Gabriella Lichon, who had eight digs and three aces.

Antioch's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Wauconda, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-10.

After both having extra time off, Antioch and Grant Community will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wauconda, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Bolingbrook on the 12th.
