Basketball Recap: Westfield Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Westfield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-38 victory over the Mooresville Pioneers. That's more bragging rights for the Shamrocks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Westfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Drew Haffner out in front who posted 23 points. The contest was Haffner's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Brock Detamore, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Westfield was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They are 8-2 when they've passed the ball that well.

Westfield's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Mooresville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Westfield will face off against Fishers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mooresville, they will square off against Seymour at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
