Basketball Recap: Spring Woods' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Spring Woods had won four straight games and Anjalena Salazar did her part to make it five on Friday. The Spring Woods Tigers took down the Galena Park Yellowjackets 57-38 thanks in part to Salazar, who went 13 of 19 on her way to 23 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Her evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Makayla Oliver was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Despite the loss, Galena Park still got an impressive performance from Savannah Roberts, who posted 11 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. Another player making a difference was Cailin Fountain, who earned five points and five rebounds.

Spring Woods' record is now 17-4. As for Galena Park, they dropped their record down to 12-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Spring Woods has already played their next contest, a 54-30 win against Westbury on the 23rd. Galena Park has also already played their next game (against Sharpstown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
