Baseball Recap: La Jolla Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for La Jolla, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They never let the Hilltop Lancers get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Friday. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 5-3 win the Lancers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

La Jolla's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Travis Lancaster, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Lancaster has posted since back in February of 2024. Another was Hank Hansen, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

La Jolla's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Hilltop, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, La Jolla will challenge Mater Dei Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hilltop, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Francis Parker at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
