Softball Recap: North Salem Vikings vs. South Albany Redhawks

North Salem had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 2-12 to make it four. They lost 17-1 to the South Albany Redhawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-5 back in March.

As for South Albany, their win bumped their record up to 6-12. The match marked their most dominant victory of the season.

For South Albany's part, they got a massive performance out of Maddie Angel, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Angel has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emily Tschida, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

Looking ahead, North Salem will head out to face off against McKay at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Albany, they will be playing at home against Crescent Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.53 runs per game on average), something the Redhawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
