Baseball Recap: West Broward Wins Going Away Against Coral Springs Charter

After only two runs in their last contest, West Broward made sure to put some runs up on the board against Coral Springs Charter on Friday. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Bobcats, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Derek Sclafani looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, West Broward got a massive performance out of Ethan Lindor, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. What's more, Lindor posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivan Sabater, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.

West Broward's victory bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Coral Springs Charter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Broward will venture away from home to take on Archbishop McCarthy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mavericks will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Coral Springs Charter, they will head out to square off against Western at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
