Baseball Recap: Pattonsburg Comes Up Short

If Pattonsburg was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Stanberry on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the St. Joseph Christian Lions by a score of 7-5 on Friday. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Pattonsburg saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camden Griffith, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Jace Estrada also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Pattonsburg's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for St. Joseph Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pattonsburg will challenge Princeton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Joseph Christian, they will square off against East Buchanan at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
