Players to Watch

Kylie Butler, Argyle/Pecatonica – Butler was named first-team all-Six Rivers East and honorable mention WBCA all-state as a junior. The Division I UW-Milwaukee commit tallied 22.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 3.0 steals per game.



Izabel Durst, Barneveld – Durst was chosen as the Six Rivers East Co-Player of the Year and took home WBCA all-state honors as a junior. The Division I prospect averaged 17.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. Izabel also made over 40 triples.

Heidi Olson, Albany/Monticello – As a freshman, Olson collected 10.1 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. She also made 38 three-pointers.

Molly Olson, Albany/Monticello – Olson received first-team all-league and honorable mention WBCA all-state as a junior, averaging 10 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.1 steals per game. Molly also made 49 of 116 from behind the arc.

Maddy Place, Black Hawk – Place was voted second-team all-conference as a sophomore, averaging 13.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.0 steals per contest.

Avari Steiner, Argyle/Pecatonica – As a sophomore, Steiner earned second-team all-league honors, contributing 14.4 points per game with 61 three-pointers made.

Brooke Wellnitz, Argyle/Pecatonica – Wellnitz was named Six Rivers East Co-Player of the Year and WBCA all-state as a sophomore. The Division I prospect averaged 18.3 points, 14.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 3.8 steals per contest.

The co-op is returning the majority of its roster, which is headlined by Kylie Butler, a Division I UW-Milwaukee commit, and Brooke Wellnitz, who led the squad to a D5 state tournament appearance two years ago.

Team Notes: The Golden Eagles brought back three starters, headlined by Izabel Durst, from last year's team, which finished the year as the Division 5 state runner-up, falling to Assumption in the title game. Coach Myers, a WBCA Hall of Famer, is the winningest coach in girls basketball history with 721 wins. He has also guided Barneveld to six WIAA state championships. Coach Myers told MaxPreps that experience, team speed, and defense are strengths.
