La'La Baldwin and Sammy Kartchner secure win for Draper APA

The Draper APA Eagles came tearing into Tuesday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 44.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They slipped by Judge Memorial Catholic 66-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Leading Draper APA to victory were La'La Baldwin and Sammy Kartchner. Baldwin scored 22 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds, while Kartchner dropped a double-double on 27 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kartchner has scored at least 25% of Draper APA's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Bluth, who scored four points.

Makena Gardner and Achol Daw certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Gardner scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, while Daw dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Gardner pulled down eight or more rebounds. Elyah Ocampo was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists.

Draper APA has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Draper APA will head out on the road to face off against American Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American Heritage and Draper APA are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads. As for Judge Memorial Catholic, they will be playing at home against Summit Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Summit Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
