Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Brazoswood's Fourth in Last Five Outings

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clear Springs, Brazoswood was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Dickinson Gators a 4-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Buccaneers: when they faced off against the Gators back in March, they had to take a 8-7 defeat.

Brazoswood has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-12-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Dickinson, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-20.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brazoswood will face off against Deer Park at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Deer's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Buccaneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Dickinson, they will take on Clear Springs at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. The Gators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
