Baseball Recap: Sunset Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

There's no place like home for Sunset, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Brito Panthers by a score of 7-3 on Wednesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Nicholas Roca, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Sunset's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-11 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was David Rodirguez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Roca wasn't the only one making solid contact: Sunset kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Knights are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Sunset pushed their record up to 7-11 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Brito, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Sunset wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-4 victory against Coral Reef on the 3rd. As for Brito, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-3 loss against Hialeah Educational Academy on the 3rd.
