Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Tarboro walked away with it. They never let the Warren County Eagles get on the board and left with a 40-0 victory on Thursday. The Vikings' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Tarboro's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamerin McDowell-Moore, who rushed for 91 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. McDowell-Moore has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Tarboro also got a significant boost from Caiden Everette, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Tarboro was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 321 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 196 rushing yards in 26 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Tarboro's defense and their three sacks. Tyler Powell was especially locked on to Warren County's QB and sacked him twice. Jhalen Pharr-McNair got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Tarboro's record now sits at 14-0. As for Warren County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-3 record.

Coming up, Tarboro will square off against Murphy at 5:00 p.m. on the 13th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Vikings 8.9, the Bulldogs 14.5) so any points scored will be well earned. Warren County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
