Softball Recap: Caldwell Has No Trouble Against Sandpoint

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kuna, Caldwell was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Sandpoint Bulldogs. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

Caldwell got a massive performance out of Ruby Balderaz, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Felton, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Caldwell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Caldwell now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Sandpoint, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Caldwell didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Kuna on the 21st. As for Sandpoint, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Century at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sandpoint is facing Century at the right time seeing as Century is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
