Recap: Jackson-Reed Tigers vs. Roosevelt Roughriders

On Wednesday, the Jackson-Reed Tigers faced the Roosevelt Roughriders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Jackson-Reed took down Roosevelt 49-35. The win made it back-to-back wins for Jackson-Reed.

Jackson-Reed's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kryslynn Stewart, who scored 13 points along with five steals. Stewart hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Aminyah Muhammed was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.

Jackson-Reed pushed their record up to 8-5 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for Roosevelt, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Jackson-Reed will head out on the road to face off against SEED DC at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt is on the road again on Friday and play against Friendship Tech Prep Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th.
