Baseball Recap: West Valley Comes Up Short

West Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Colony on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The loss leaves the Wolf Pack still looking for their first win of the season.

Liam Irish made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Finn Lindsey also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

West Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Colony, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Valley will square off against Wasilla at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolf Pack's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Colony, they will take on Houston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Hawks have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
