Baseball Recap: James River Midlothian Comes Up Short

After flying high against Powhatan on Thursday, James River Midlothian came back down to earth. The Rapids fell just short of the Cosby Titans by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Rapids haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

James River Midlothian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Grant, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Grant has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

James River Midlothian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Cosby, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5-1 record this season.

James River Midlothian will host Richmond High School for the Arts at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rapids are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Cosby, they will venture away from home to challenge Atlee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
