Firth has gone a perfect 10-0 against Salmon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cougars will take on the Savages at 4:00 p.m. Firth is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season.
Firth blew North Fremont out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday North Fremont got their revenge. The Cougars fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 5-3. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Firth saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brycen Andersen, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Salmon came up short against Teton on Thursday and fell 10-7. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Savages, who until this game were averaging 2.18 runs allowed.
Wyatt Pilkerton was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Broc Matthews, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Firth's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Salmon, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Firth has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Salmon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Firth got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Salmon by a conclusive 9-3 score. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Savages have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
