Baseball Recap: St. Benedict at Auburndale Takes a Loss

St. Benedict at Auburndale fell victim to Fayette Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 8-0. Having soared to a lofty 26 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

St. Benedict at Auburndale saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adam O'Brien, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. That's the most hits O'Brien has posted since back in March of 2024.

St. Benedict at Auburndale dropped their record down to 2-5 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Fayette Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Benedict at Auburndale will challenge Briarcrest Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fayette Academy, they will face off against Brighton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Brighton will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Fayette Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
