Baseball Game Preview: Palmerton Blue Bombers vs. Stroudsburg Mountaineers

The Palmerton Blue Bombers will take on the Stroudsburg Mountaineers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Palmerton comes in on six and Stroudsburg on five.

Palmerton took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Northwestern Lehigh, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blue Bombers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Tigers on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Bombers have posted against the Tigers since March 28, 2023.

Mason George was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Luke Matkso was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Stroudsburg and Pleasant Valley have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Saturday. The Mountaineers came out on top against the Bears by a score of 6-3.

The team relied heavily on Damian Budhai, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Stroudsburg pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Palmerton, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
