Baseball Recap: Three Rivers Beats Dowagiac for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Three Rivers waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Dowagiac Chieftains. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-0 on Saturday.

Peyton Hradsky looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Three Rivers got a big performance out of Jace Gray, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Gray is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Louis Smith, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Three Rivers pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Dowagiac, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Three Rivers will face off against Plainwell at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dowagiac, they will host Bridgman at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
