Soccer Recap: Cumberland Gap Takes a Loss

Cumberland Gap was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Cumberland Gap can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 305th, while Gatlinburg-Pittman are ranked 53rd).

Cumberland Gap's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, they pushed their record up to 8-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Cumberland Gap will host Volunteer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, they will venture away from home to square off against Bluffton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bluffton will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last.
