Basketball Recap: Seymour Takes a Loss

Seymour lost against Ankeny Christian Academy two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Seymour Warriors were outmatched by Ankeny Christian Academy and fell 54-21.

Seymour dropped their record down to 8-9-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Ankeny Christian Academy, Orient-Macksburg, and Ankeny Christian Academy. As for Ankeny Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seymour will square off against Orient-Macksburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seymour is facing Orient-Macksburg at the right time seeing as Orient-Macksburg is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Ankeny Christian Academy, they will take on Murray on Thursday. Ankeny Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 29.9 points per game this season, so Murray's offense will have their work cut out for them.
