Northeast extended their postseason success on Thursday against Gulf Coast. They never let the Sharks get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won six matches in a row.

Danielle Brunner made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Ava Twinam was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Lashell Roberts was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Northeast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Northeast's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Gulf Coast, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-4.

Coming up, Northeast will head out on the road to square off against Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Green Wave have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. Gulf Coast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
