New London hadn't done well against Western Reserve recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Wildcats skirted past the Roughriders 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since October 23, 2024.

New London was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-11, 17-25, 26-28, 26-24, 15-8.

Pailee Wilson paced New London's offense, picking up 22 kills. Wilson got some help from Harper Clemons and her 28 assists. Addison Yetter controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Despite the loss, Western Reserve still got an impressive performance from Makayla Case, who had 15 digs and five assists. Case is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Ava-Grace Thornburg also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

New London is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Western Reserve, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

New London wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against South Central on the 2nd. As for Western Reserve, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Mapleton on the 2nd.
