Softball Recap: Millburn Takes a Loss

After flying high against East Side on Thursday, Millburn came back down to earth. The Millers lost 13-3 to the Montclair Kimberley Academy Cougars on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-2 last Thursday.

Millburn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoe Barnett, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Millburn has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Montclair Kimberley Academy, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millburn will challenge Payne Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Montclair Kimberley Academy, they will take on Doane Academy on Tuesday. Montclair Kimberley Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Doane Academy has averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
