Recap: Horizon Scorpions vs. Ysleta Indians
The Horizon Scorpions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 14th straight loss. They were dealt a 54-25 loss at the hands of Ysleta. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Horizon in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost seven in a row.
Janae Atkins had a dynamite game for Ysleta, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Atkins has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesscia Jasso, who scored 15 points.
Horizon has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 17 of their last 18 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-22 record this season. As for Ysleta, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-18.
Horizon will take on the Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bel Air presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Scorpions in Texas (the Highlanders are ranked 374th, while the Scorpions are ranked 1410th). As for Ysleta, they will head out on the road to face off against the Conquistadores at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
