Basketball Recap: Eastside Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Wydell James and Kenneth Harris

Eastside lost against Highland back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eastside Lions received a blow as they fell 62-48 to the Highland Bulldogs. The Lions' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Eastside's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kenneth Harris, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Wydell James, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. Those 19 points gave James a new career-high.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Highland, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-6.

Eastside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-31 victory against Fillmore on the 14th. Highland will take on Antelope Valley in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland is facing Antelope Valley at the right time seeing as Antelope Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
