Basketball Recap: Lithia Springs Takes a Loss

Lithia Springs's last matchup with Newnan could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Leo Lion had to suffer through a 79-19 loss at the hands of the Cougars. The Leo Lion were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-9.

Janiyah Pritchett was nothing short of spectacular for Newnan: she went 8-for-17 on her way to 18 points along with seven steals and six assists. That's the most steals Pritchett has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Yevrah Mack, who shot 58% from the field en route to 14 points in addition to six boards and three blocks.

Lithia Springs is on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lithia Springs is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Chapel Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Newnan, they will head out to take on Villa Rica at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
