Volleyball Preview: Rowe Warriors vs. Sharyland Rattlers
Rowe hasn't had much luck against Sharyland recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Rowe Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sharyland Rattlers at 12:00 p.m.
Last Tuesday, Rowe came up short against McAllen and fell 3-1. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Rowe had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 23-25, 25-22, 25-19.
Meanwhile, Sharyland came tearing into Saturday's matchup with eight straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs , sneaking past 3-2.
Sharyland wouldn't go down easily and took McAllen into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 19-25, 17-25, 15-10.
Sharyland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayleen Berlanga out in front who had three digs and 17 assists.
Rowe's defeat dropped their record down to 22-11. As for Sharyland, they pushed their record up to 31-3 with the win, which was their 29th straight at home dating back to last season.
