Baseball Game Preview: Holmes Aces vs. Currituck County Knights

For the second straight game, Holmes will face off against Currituck County. The Aces will host the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Holmes is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.

Holmes hadn't beaten Currituck County on the road since February 27, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Aces walked away with a 4-1 win over the Knights.

Holmes' victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Fisher Bobbitt, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base. Bobbitt has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played. Another was Kaden Parker, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Holmes pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Currituck County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
