Baseball Recap: Ravenna Find Success

Ravenna's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past John Hay 17-1. The victory continues a trend for the Ravens in their matchups with John Hay: they've now won five in a row.

Peter Jennings looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Logan Godley was a standout: he scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jeriah Miller, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Ravenna hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as John Hay struck out seven times.

Ravenna's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for John Hay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Ravenna has already played their next contest, a 23-0 loss against Field on the 12th. As for John Hay, they will face off against Rhodes at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something John Hay surely won't give up without a fight.
