Recap: Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets vs. Chittenango Bears
The Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell to Chittenango 58-52. While losing is never fun, Fayetteville-Manlius can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while Chittenango is ranked 215th).
Ryan Moesch continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chittenango, scoring 29 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Moesch has scored at least 25% of Chittenango's points. Another player making a difference was Jack Lamphere, who scored 12 points along with three blocks.
Fayetteville-Manlius' defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-5. As for Chittenango, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Fayetteville-Manlius will head out on the road to face off against Cicero-North Syracuse at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cicero-North Syracuse has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 578 points over their last eight contests. Chittenango won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Johnson City at 8:00 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Johnson City is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
