Basketball Recap: Orrville Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Orrville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 54-43 win over the Hubbard Eagles on Friday.

Jakob Hayes and Kenyen Franklin certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hayes almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Franklin went 5-for-12 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Bucher, who posted eight points and five boards.

Orrville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points over those games. As for Hubbard, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 16 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

Orrville will head out on the road to face off against Buchtel at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Buchtel's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches. Hubbard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
