Softball Game Preview: Northern Cambria Colts vs. Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays

The Northern Cambria Colts will take on the Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Northern Cambria managed to slip by Moshannon Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Colts lost 9-1 to the Black Knights/Damsels on Monday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Colts couldn't push the score so high this time.

Northern Cambria saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexa Fox, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Fox is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Conemaugh Valley). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Greater Johnstown a 22-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Blue Jays as they're now sitting on four straight.

Northern Cambria's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Conemaugh Valley, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
