Baseball Recap: Finneytown Comes Up Short

Finneytown extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping their season record down to 2-6 in the process. They came up short against the Indian Hill Braves, falling 25-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

As for Indian Hill, their record is now 7-5. That 25 run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For Indian Hill's part, Noah Coffman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Coffman has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Devlan Daniel was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. He also scored three runs, which is notable because Indian Hill is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Ashton Graham was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
