Softball Recap: Godley Snags 13th Victory in Last 14 Games

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Friday. Godley blew past Kennedale 12-1. The result was nothing new for Godley, who have now won 18 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Karlee Clark and Sierra Beratto made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Clark pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Beratto tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Clark has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. At bat, Clark scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Beratto scored a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Alyssa Sullivan was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Samantha Andersen was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Godley is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Kennedale, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Godley will square off against rival Ferris at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kennedale is set to face off against their familiar foe Alvarado at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
