Softball Recap: Pike Liberal Arts Takes a Loss

Pike Liberal Arts blew Brantley out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Brantley got their revenge. The Patriots fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-2. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 9-2.

Alissa Barron spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Pike Liberal Arts saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haylie Brown, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Pike Liberal Arts and nudges their season record down to 11-11. As for Brantley, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-13.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Pike Liberal Arts will host Goshen at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Brantley, they will be playing at home against Ariton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
