Baseball Recap: Miami Takes a Loss

Miami was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 20-3 to the Globe Tigers. The Vandals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Miami saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Gore, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave Gore a new career-high. Ethan Guthrey also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Miami's record is now 1-10. As for Globe, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miami will venture away from home to square off against Gilbert Classical Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Gilbert Classical Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.86 runs per game on average), something Miami will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Globe, they are taking a road trip to face off against Seton Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
