Baseball Recap: Osceola Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Osceola barely beat Hollins the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Royals on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Osceola got a great performance from Luke Pembleton as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts Pembleton has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaedyn Phillips, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Richard Stegbauer, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Osceola always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hollins only posted an OBP of .200.

The win (which was Osceola's fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hollins, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Osceola will face off against East Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 1.8, the Eagles 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Hollins, they will challenge Calvary Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Royals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
