Baseball Recap: Lake Shore Eagles vs. Iroquois Redhawks
Lake Shore extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-5 in the process. They lost 16-6 to the Iroquois Redhawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Redhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 on Wednesday.
Shane Lagattuta was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Cohen Ludwig was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
As for Iroquois, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0. The result was nothing new for the Redhawks, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
On Iroquois' side, the team relied heavily on Gavin Dundon, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and three runs. That home run was Dundon's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexander Yandricha, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Coming up, Lake Shore will challenge Fredonia at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Iroquois, they will face off against St. Mary's at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
