Softball Game Preview: Saint Viator Lions vs. Montini Catholic Broncos

The Saint Viator Lions will square off against the Montini Catholic Broncos at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Saint Viator has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 19th.

Buffalo Grove hit Saint Viator with a eight-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lions came up short against the Bison, falling 11-1.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 24 runs the game before, Montini Catholic was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They lost 8-2 to Mother McAuley. The Broncos' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Montini Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Saint Viator, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Saint Viator skirted past Montini Catholic 13-12 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
